DAILYREFLECTION

No one purifies himself in his house then walks to one of the houses of Allah but that for every step he takes, one is raised a degree by it and one sin is erased.

We have made movement into a chore. It lives in a separate hour, in special clothes, on a machine that goes nowhere. The Prophet, peace be upon him, knew a different kind of movement. His was woven into the day itself, purposeful and unhurried, carrying him toward something that mattered.

Look again at the hadith. Each step toward the masjid does two things at once. It lifts you a degree, and it erases a sin. One simple act of walking, and both body and soul are tended in the same motion. The Sunnah rarely separates the two the way we do.

We were not built to sit still for ten hours and then punish ourselves for an hour to make up for it. We were built to move gently and often, the way the Prophet moved: to the masjid, to the sick, out under the open sky. The reward was spiritual, but the body quietly collected its share too.

So the invitation is small and ancient. Walk a little more, and walk it on purpose. Let the steps to prayer, to a neighbour, to a friend in need, become both your exercise and your worship. You do not need a new routine. You need to notice that the oldest one was always within reach.

Reflect on this: what is one short journey in your day that you could walk instead of ride, and offer as both movement and worship?
