Allah said to Muhammad (ﷺ):
'Verily, We will please you with regard to your Ummah and will never displease you".
Have you ever loved someone so deeply that even the thought of failing them brought you to tears?
Today, on this blessed Arafah, let me tell you about the most beautiful heartbreak in history.
The Prophet ﷺ stands before 100,000, many of whom are seeing him and hearing his voice for the first time.
He delivers history's most important message about the oneness of Allah, the equality of all people, and the sanctity of life and property.
Then our beloved Prophet ﷺ does something vulnerably human.
He looks out at this sea of faces, faces that traveled months to be here, faces that hung on his every word, faces of people he loves more than his own self and who love him the same.
"O people," he says, "you're going to be asked about me on Judgment Day. You're going to be asked whether I did my job properly."
Can you imagine?
The man chosen by Allah, who endured the most pain, the loss of his children, exiled from his city, rejected by his people, is asking us if he loved us enough.
If he taught us enough. If he gave us everything we needed.
"What will you say when you're asked about me?" He continues, his voice now heavy with emotion
Then something beautiful happens.
One hundred thousand voices rise:
"We bear witness that you delivered the message!
Fulfilled the trust!
Gave us sincere counsel!"
Imagine 100,000 people crying out their love for the Prophet ﷺ.
Grown men weeping, mothers clutching children, everyone telling him just how much he meant to them.
How much he’s done for them, how much they love him.
The ummah's collective voice, affirming their beloved Prophet ﷺ in his beautiful vulnerability.
Tears streamed down his blessed face.
Tears of relief, tears of gratitude, tears of overwhelming love.
His finger points to the sky, and through his tears, he calls out three times:
"Allahu mashhad! Allahu mashhad! Allahu mashhad!"
"O Allah, bear witness." "O Allah, bear witness." "O Allah, bear witness."
After his salaam to the people, the Prophet ﷺ raised his hands skyward and kept them there…for hours.
The authentic reports tell us his companions could see under his arms from how high his hands were raised.
Hour after hour, the Prophet ﷺ stood there in intimate conversation with Allah.
We'll never know the exact words of that sacred du'a, but we know from countless other occasions that his heart was always with his ummah.
In those hours of raised hands, the same love that made him weep for us in his night prayers was being poured out on this blessed day.
Whatever those sacred words were, you were in his heart during these hours.
May Allah shower His blessings upon our beloved Prophet ﷺ, embrace every pilgrim standing on Arafah, and fill all our hearts with His light on this sacred day

👶 SunnahStories

Upon a field so wide and free,
A horse once ruled in majesty.
With flowing mane and strength so bright,
He galloped fast from dawn to night.
But from the hills there came one day,
A stag who would not move away.
He claimed the grass, he drank the stream,
And shattered Rafiq’s peaceful dream.
"This land is mine!" the horse declared,
But oh! The stag just laughed and stared.
With anger strong and heart so wild,
The horse then sought a plan most vile.
"O farmer, help! I seek your aid,"
"Upon my land, a thief has stayed!"
"I cannot fight him, bold and tall—"
"So ride my back and end it all!"
The farmer smiled and took the rein,
And rode the horse across the plain.
The stag soon fled, the land was won—
But Rafiq’s fate was now undone.
"Where shall you go?" the farmer said,
"Your freedom’s gone, your strength is wed."
"You sought revenge, but lost your way—"
"And now beneath my rule, you stay."
And so he sighed, no longer free,
For blinded rage had sealed his plea.
For hatred brings a bitter cost,
And what is won, may yet be lost.
Reflection Questions:
1️⃣ Why did Rafiq ask the farmer for help?
2️⃣ How did the farmer trick him into losing his freedom?
3️⃣ What does Islam teach us about controlling anger and seeking justice?
4️⃣ Can you think of a time when anger made a situation worse?
5️⃣ How can we make sure we do not sacrifice important things in the pursuit of revenge?
