DAILYREFLECTION

So race to all that is good

There's something subtle most of us don't notice.

It's the space between thinking about something… and actually doing it.

That space is small sometimes. Other times it stretches longer than we realize.

Think about the people you respect — the ones who create, who follow through, who seem steady in their progress. They're not necessarily more gifted. Often, they just move sooner. The window between I should and I am is shorter for them.

Allah describes His command in the Qur’an as:

Be, and it is. (Qur'an 36:82)

With Allah, there is no gap between will and existence. That is the ultimate power. We cannot create like that. But we can learn from the principle. We can shorten the space between conviction and action.

Ramadan is the perfect training ground for this. When the adhan calls, how quickly do we stand? When the Qur'an is right there — do we open it, or wait for a better moment that never comes? Every delay reinforces hesitation. Every immediate step strengthens resolve.

And this doesn't stay confined to worship. The same urgency that makes you a better worshipper makes you a better parent, a sharper student, a more reliable colleague. Conviction is a muscle. It grows through use.

Ramadan is a month of restraint, but also of decisiveness. Each choice makes you stronger.

If this reflection stirred something in you, don't let it linger as just another thought, take an action.

We are currently raising funds to build a masjid that will be a center for prayer, learning, and community in this community.

If you've been meaning to contribute, this is your moment.

Reflect on this:

Which part of your day has the biggest gap between thought and action — and what's really behind the delay?

Share your reflections in the poll at the end of the email.
